The Wellfleet Community Forum sponsored “Solar 101 Workshop″, on Monday, Feb 3, 2014, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Wellfleet Senior Center, 715 Old Kings Highway.

This Solar 101 Presentation began with a presentation from Catherine Finneran, Senior Director for Renewable Energy Generation of the Mass Clean Energy Center. She described the motivation and goals for the Solarize Massachusetts program. Catherine briefly explained how solar pthe e metering works, and what factors can contribute to additional costs for a photovoltaic system. Next, we had a talk from Conrad Geyser of Cotuit Solar, the lead installer, explaining the effect of orientation and the prices associated with each tier..A sample panel was available for inspection and the various ways panels could be attached to the roof were available for demonstration.
